ACWERN
Associates
In
2000, the Management Board created the category of ACWERN
Associates, to:
- recognize
the value of continuing
relationships between ACWERN faculty, students and staff, with science
and management professionals.
- recognize
the broad influence that ACWERN research
and conservation programs have through partnerships in Atlantic Canada,
and
- encourage
other science professionals to develop
continuing working partnerships with ACWERN.
 Associates participated in ACWERN affairs and in
joint research
or conservation projects as well as provided advice and
support to students.
They may have been from an ACWERN university or another
academic
institution, government agency, private industry, or non-government
organization. Associates were normally scientists holding a
university degree, but may also have been recognized for their management or
logistical support to ACWERN programs.
